The Call for Papers for JCON EUROPE 2027 is now open. Once again, we are looking for speakers from the Java community who want to share their knowledge, experience, and exciting projects with an international audience.
Whether it’s a technical deep dive, lessons learned from real-world projects, or new ideas and technologies, the focus is on practical sessions that provide developers with valuable insights they can apply in their own work. And you don’t need to be an experienced conference speaker to submit. First-time speakers are explicitly welcome.
Topics from Across the Java Ecosystem
The range of topics covers everything from Core Java, the JVM, and performance to Jakarta EE, Spring, Quarkus, and Micronaut, as well as software architecture, cloud-native development, microservices, and containers.
Other key areas include DevOps, CI/CD, testing, security, and observability, as well as artificial intelligence and AI-powered Java applications. Topics around methodology, collaboration, community, people, and culture are also part of the program.
What matters is not whether a topic fits the latest hype. We are looking for relevant ideas, real-world experience, and insights that other developers can learn from.
Three Formats for Your Idea
For 2027, speakers can choose from three formats: traditional 45-minute sessions, focused 20-minute lightning talks, and two-hour hands-on workshops.
This gives JCON room for everything from technical deep dives to focused ideas and in-depth practical sessions.
JCON EUROPE 2027 at the Cinedom in Cologne
JCON EUROPE will once again take place at the Cinedom in Cologne in 2027. It kicks off on Monday, April 26, 2027, with a Workshop Day featuring eight workshops. The three-day main conference follows from Tuesday, April 27, through Thursday, April 29, 2027.
The unique setting remains part of the JCON experience: instead of traditional conference rooms, speakers get giant cinema screens for code, live demos, and architecture diagrams – along with an international Java community ready to discuss, exchange ideas, and network.
Speaker Benefits
Accepted speakers receive a Conference Pass including the Workshop Day, plus five additional three-day passes to share with colleagues, friends, or community members. They are also invited to the Speaker Dinner on Tuesday, April 27, and receive social media support from JCON once the schedule has been published.
CFP Deadline: October 16, 2026 – submit your idea and become part of JCON EUROPE 2027.
